Andrew J. West, Alanna Masterson and Christian Serratos will all be series regulars when AMC’s massive hit “The Walking Dead” returns for its fifth season.
This means we’ll be seeing more of Tara (Masterson), Rosita (Serratos) and Gareth (West) in the fifth season, and they might get to survive for a while? Well, let’s not get carried away. For what it’s worth, it seems the show’s newest newbie, West, may have the most pivotal role in season 5, playing the leader of the new group of potential friends or foes Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and co. meet in the season 4 finale. Comics and show creator Robert Kirckman tells THR, “Seeing Gareth and Rick and the people of Terminus and our survivors go head to head is going to be interesting. There is a very deep, dark and storied history to Terminus and how these people came to be that will be revealed in season five.”
All three actors had options to be promoted to series regulars in the new season when they signed on for guest and recurring roles in the just-ended season 4. Filming on season 5 will begin next month, with a premiere expected in October.
